Armani enjoyed a moderate :58.1 front half on the lead, making the job for I Love My MVP that much tougher. Nevertheless, the My MVP-I Love Lindy gelding moved from fifth and gained  steadily for Jeremy Indof, passing Armani in deep stretch and downing him by a neck in 1:57. Betterinpinehurst rallied wide for show.

Dirk Simpson trains the winner for Dirk Simpson Stable Inc. It was one of four victories for Indof on the 11-race card, including a pair for Simpson.

In the $16,000 Open Handicap Trot, Icanflylikeanangel took advantage of fast fractions to post a first-over victory in 1:54.1 for Mike Wilder and trainer Randy Bendis, who owns with Pollack Racing LLC. Rising MVP and Hashtagmadeyalook completed the ticket. The 8-year-old Archangel-Fox Valley London gelding boosted his career bankroll to $588,239.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Saturday (May 30) when the 11-race program features a $25,000 total-pool guarantee and “must pay” for the Jackpot Pick-5 (race four). Ordinarily, the jackpot is paid only if there is a unique correct ticket. However, because Saturday is the final day of the current meeting with no carryovers permitted, payout of the entire pool is mandatory, and all players with correct tickets will share the spoils.

For that reason, the final-race Super Hi-5, with a carryover of $1,017.66, also is must pay.

First post Saturday is 12:45 p.m.
