Aaron Hall stars in holiday action at Bangor

Bangor, ME — Aaron Hall held the hot hand at Bangor Raceway on Sunday (July 3), scoring twin victories over a lightening quick track as the Independence Day holiday weekend shifted into high gear.

Hall aggressively asserted his presence on Sunday with an insistent drive to the early lead behind Casimir Overdrive, repelling all challengers before powering to a 4-1/2 length margin of victory, timed in a brisk 1:56.1 for trainer Christopher Hitchcock.

He quickly followed that zippy score by taking a well-rated, front end romp around the oval to secure the first seasonal win for Thinking Of Slim (1:57.4), an entry from Hall’s very on roster.

Heath Campbell joined Hall in doubling his pleasure on Sunday, first guiding Pembroke Legacy (1:59.2) to her third consecutive Maine Sire Stakes victory lap in her $11,461 stakes split before nailing the fastest mile of the day with Middle Aged Crazy (1:55.2) in the $6,000 overnight feature race.

Wolverina grabbed top honors in the $11,461 second division of Maine Sire Stakes action on Sunday with Nick Graffam driving for his father, trainer Michael Graffam. Last season’s freshman stakes champion earned the first win of her sophomore campaign, timed in a steady 1:59.3.
