Kings County reclaims Dayton feature

Dayton, OH — Despite taking last week off, Kings County reclaimed his throne in the $25,000 Open Trot on Tuesday (Oct. 18) at Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway.

Leaving from post four, the 6-year-old son of Muscle Hill eased his way to the top. Although two-wide through the :27.4 opening quarter, Kings County gained control of the field without hesitation. As the even-money favorite, he set the pace for the remainder of the mile. Kings County reached the half in :56.1 and three-quarters in 1:24.1 with Tyler Smith at the lines. Rounding out of the final turn, Kings County opened up by four lengths and stopped the clock in 1:54.
