Washington, PA – Howard Hughes N shot the lightning lane and overpowered the game leader, Carolina Beach, to capture Friday’s (Feb. 24) feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $15,400 Conditioned Pace.

Howard Hughes N was shy of the lead in recent weeks, but there was nothing reclusive about the 7-year-old Bettor’s Delight-Heavenly Franco N gelding on Friday. He zipped forward for Hunter Myers from post seven, dropped in behind Carolina Beach and outkicked him, downing him by 1-1/4 lengths in 1:52.2.

San Domino A finished third.

J.L. Adams trains Howard Hughes N, who now has banked $119,197, for Martin Valentic.

Ridge Warren piloted three winners on the 13-race card.
