Nuttin But Finesse wins Saratoga Open Pace

Saratoga Springs, NY — Nuttin But Finesse was full of finesse as he won the $17,000 Winners Over/Open Handicap Pace on Saturday (July 29) at Saratoga Casino Hotel.

Jim Devaux and Nuttin But Finesse cleared the front along the pylons after the opening panel in :27.3 and then led the field to the half in :56.3 and three-quarters in 1:24.3. Using a :27.3 last quarter, Nuttin But Finesse won by a length in 1:52.1. Soul Assassin (Mitchell Cushing) finished second with Wyatt J (Luke Hanners) third.

Megan Reynolds trains Nuttin But Finesse for owners Janice Connor, John Stronka, Scott McGee and Robert Lovett. A career winner of 21 races and $190,347, the 5-year-old son of Art Major moved his seasonal win count to three with $47,015 earned.

Brett Derue trained three winners on the card with Brett Beckwith steering Bridge Works ($2.50) to victory in 1:59.3 and Wally Hennessey driving both Hot Joe ($2.70) in 1:53.4 and Hashtag Money ($3.30) in 1:55.3.

Racing at Saratoga Casino Hotel resumes on Sunday (July 30) with a first post time of 6:45 p.m.
