Premier Delainey rallies to 9-1 upset in Meadows feature

Washington, PA — Premier Delainey made up three lengths in deep stretch to pull off a 9-1 upset in Wednesday’s (Sept.6) feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $13,500 Filly & Mare Claiming Handicap Pace.

Once Itz Missauckland N cleared to the top with an impressive three-wide backside burst, it appeared she would cruise to victory. But Premier Delainey had other ideas, digging deep for Mike Wilder and edging Itz Missauckland N by a nose in 1:52.4. Priceless Shadow completed the ticket.

Randy Bendis trains Premier Delainey, a 6-year-old daughter of Always A Virgin-Premier Indigo who lifted her lifetime bankroll to $130,330, for Pollack Racing LLC and Jeff Cullipher.

Aaron Merriman piloted three winners on the 12-race card.
