Seaside Tina gets front-end win in Meadows feature

Washington, PA — After quick opening fractions of :26.3 and :54.4, Seaside Tina proved up to the task as she captured Thursday’s (Oct. 12) feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows for her second straight victory.

Even with the swift front half, no one challenged Seaside Tina, the 3-5 favorite, until the final turn, when Quick Menu angled off the cones from third. Aaron Merriman set Seaside Tina to her task, and she responded by scoring in 1:50.4, a half length better than Lady Rita, who closed ground in the Lightning Lane. Quick Menu finished third.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Friday (Oct. 13), when The Meadows and the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association stage their seventh annual Pink Out to benefit the American Cancer Society. The program features many festivities, including corgi racing, a female drivers’ championship and treat bags for costume-clad kids. First post for the 14-race card is 5:10 p.m.
