Millionairess Racine Bell wins in return to Saratoga

The Dave Dewhurst trainee is about reach the $200,000 mark in seasonal earnings for the third straight year and added to that tally by going coast-to-coast in the $15,000 feature.
Racine Bell powered out from post eight to make the lead in a sizzling first quarter in :26.4. The 1-5 betting favorite never faced a legitimate challenge after rattling off a half in :56 seconds and three quarters in 1:24.3.
Leading driver Jimmy Devaux asked the classy 6-year-old to pick up the pace at that point and her response was instant. Racine Bell powered away from the competition in the ladies’ Open to win in 1:53.2. The win was number eight on the season and 36 in the career of Racine Bell who has amassed well over $1.1 million in lifetime earnings.
Racine Bell is owned by Chris and Dale Lawton of New York. Longshot (31-1) HS Shauna (Phil Fluet) finished second to the millionaire mare on Monday while fellow longshot (11-1) Shallow (Mcgwire Sowers) earned the show spot. The ($2) exacta with the big favorite on top paid $20.60 while the ($2) triple returned $94.50.
