Pacers race in Buckeye Stallion Series

Columbus, OH — On Thursday evening (July 19) the 2-year-old filly pacers raced in the second leg of Buckeye Stallion Series at Eldorado Scioto Downs.

Ambitious Lillian (Big Bad John-Life’s Highway) was the first Buckeye Stallion Series winner of the evening in race one, finishing in 1:56.4 with Aaron Merriman in the sulky. Ambitious Lillian is trained by Bruce Farquhar. Michael Farquhar and Robert Weisgerber own the Big Bad John filly, who was bred by Midland Acres. Following her in second and third were Wine Or Women (Dragon Again-Armbro Wichita) and Bet You Im Rockin (Rockin Amadeus-Zabette).

Atlantic Star (Cheyenne Rei-Atlantic Filly) and driver Ed Hennessey were next to the winner’s circle in race two in 1:56.1. Trained by Sandra Hennessey, Atlantic Star is owned by Michael Hale and Don Locricchio. Ohio State ATI is the breeder. Cookies Empire (Pet Rock-La Diavla) finished in second place in 1:57.3 and Lluli (Mr Apples-Chloes Silver Star) was third in 1:57.1.

In race four Mach The Rock (Pet Rock-Hammers Princess) won in 1:56 with driver Dan Noble. Mach The Rock is trained, owned and bred by George Hensley. Second place was Cornerd Beach (Beachtrea-Corner Cruiser) in 1:56.4 and Miss Me Now (Yankee Cruiser-Miss May Yan) finished third.

The final Buckeye Stallions Series race Wednesday was race five. Mcstunning (McArdle-In The Green) and Dan Noble made it to the winner’s circle in 1:55.2. McStunning is owned by Rebecca Sugg and Johnny Yoder. Brad Wallace was the breeder. Just behind was Smartys Filly (Pet Rock-Smartygirl) in second and Beautiful Liz (Dragon Again-Enchanted Beauty) finished third.

Don’t miss Buckeye Stallion Series action on Saturday night (July 21) when 40 3-year-old colt pacers will race the third leg.

Goingtocalifornia returns in race one, looking for a third win in the series. He won May 5 at Miami Valley in 1:53.1 and June 8 at Scioto Downs in 1:53.1.

Race two will see Panimal Kingdom (No Pan Indended-Adventure Pan) trying for his second Buckeye Stallion Series win, after winning leg two on June 8. Gotarockinmypocket (Pet Rock-Fran Anna), a leg one winner on May 8, also returns, looking for a second Buckeye Stallion Series win. Yankee Osborne is also in race three, a winner of the $25,000 Beach Boy Series at Northfield Park on June 30.

In race 11 Cass Delight Rock (Pet Rock-Amber Delight) will be aiming for a third leg win, after winning the first two legs on May 5 and June 8. Long Train Runnin (Big Bad John-On The Choo Choo) has won three Ohio Fair Stakes races in July including Oak Harbor, London and Marion.

CG’s Boy Toy (Powerful Toy-A Clever Girl) will race in the 12th race. He has two Ohio Fair Stake races in July, Wilmington and Bellefontaine. In Trouble Again (Dragon Again-Whatswrongwiththat) is looking for a second Buckeye Stallion Series win after winning leg one at Miami Valley in May.
