Scioto hosts Buckeye Stallion Series

Grove City, OH — Three sets of Buckeye Stallion Series races were held this week at Eldorado Scioto Downs.

On Tuesday (July 10), 28 horses raced in the 2-year-old filly pace. Race one saw Brown Magic Woman (Yankee Cruiser-Special Magic) head to the winner’s circle in 1:57.3, Driven by Kayne Kauffman and trained by Brian Brown, Brown Magic Woman is owned and was bred by Emerald Highlands Farm. This was her first start. Second place went to Bet You Im Rockin (Rockin Amadeus-Zabette) and third was Feelinupbeat (Feelin Friskie-Last Sam Standing).

Cookies Empire (Pet Rock-La Diavla) finished first in 1:57.3 in race three with Tyler Smith in the sulky. She is trained and owned by Steve Carter, while bred by Midland Acres Inc. Going To Win (Pet Rock-Miss Walker) was second and Vintage Gal (Western Vintage-Park Avenue Gal) was third.

Tyler Smith returned to the winner’s circle in race seven with Beautiful Liz (Dragon Again-Enchanted Beauty) in 1:56.2. Beautiful Liz is trained by Trent Stohler. Owners of Beautiful Liz include Trent Stohler Stable, Benjamin Graber, Dolne Farm Services and Kathy Smith. She was bred by White Birch Farm. Devious Dame (Art Official-Dangerous Dame) finished in second and third was Mcstunning (McArdle-In The Green).

On Wednesday (July 11) 3-year-old trotting colts raced in the Buckeye Stallion Series. Doc Mossies Legacy (Break The Bank K-Montauk Point) headed to the winner’s circle in race two with driver Brendan Johnson in 1:56.3. This win brings Doc Mossies Legacy’s 2018 earnings to $21,235. Doc Mossies Legacy is trained by Paul Sunderhaus, who also owns him with Chris Gilbert and Larry Agle. He was bred by Midland Acres Inc. Two Dejarmbro colts came in second and third, High Definition As (Dejarmbro-High Musclemass) and Distorted Dream (Dejarmbro-Silly Dreams).

Race three saw Decashbro (Dejarmbro-Swing Anna Cash) head to the winner’s circle in 1:56.1 with driver Randy Tharps. Sam Schillaci trains and co-owns the colt with Matthew Bencic and Howard Berke. Breeder was Jonas Schlabach. Close behind were Cheer The Storm (Stormin Normand-Hooray For Mom) in second and Sugar Top (Manofmanymissions-Sugar) in third.

Another Dejarmbro colt stole the show in race five when Showboat (Dejarmbro-Tori Ann) finished in 1:57.1 with Jason Brewer in the sulky. Showboat is trained by Virgil Morgan Jr. and owned by Joyce McClelland. Joyce and Richard McClelland are the breeders. Closely behind were Cordoba Hall (Cash Hall-Canland Hall) in second and Tropical Splash As (Dejarmbro-Tropical Breeze As) in third.

The final 3-year-old colt trot race was in race seven. In My Dreams (Winning Fireworks-Iam Spikes Wish) wasn’t dreaming when Dan Noble drove him into the winner’s circle in 1:55.4. Trained and owned by Brent Davis, with Hatfield Stables, In My Dreams was bred by Daniel Schlabach and Wayne Schlabach. Whitman Spur (Triumphant Caviar-Mona Lisa Spur) came in second and third was Blasco (Manofmanymissions-Zakanka).

The final leg of the Buckeye Stallion Series raced this week was the 2-year-old filly trot on Thursday (July 12). Feel Invincible As (Broadway Hall-There’s A Way) and Chris Page placed first in 1:58.2. Trained by Anette Lorentzon, this was the filly’s first start. She is owned by ACL Stuteri AB and Kjell Johansson. Her breeder is also ACL Stuteri AB. Close behind in second place was Foolmegypsy (Deep Chip-Flirtified) and third was Twentyfour K Magic (Dontyouforgetit-Magic Memory).

Race five saw Gayla Kaye (Dejarmbro-Ticket To Glide) head to the winner’s circle. Dan Noble brought the filly home in 2:00.4. Gayla Kaye is trained by John Ryan Melsheimer. She is owned and was bred by Joyce McClelland. Second place was Supreme Lady (Knight Of Intrigue-Open The Case) and third was Flawless Stone (Wishing Stone-Flawless Chip).
