One of the very rare mile races in France, Prix de Washington, was raced Saturday afternoon (June 30) at Enghien, Paris, and was won by the 7-year-old mare Uza Josselyn, driven by Alexandre Abrivard, in a new track, race and French record of 1:50.3.

Uza Josselyn won the Prix de Washington in a French record time of 1:50.3.

The purse for the winner was $65,000.

Uza Josselyn, who is sired by Love You, won by two lengths followed by Dijon (driven by Romain Derieux) and Amiral Sacha (driven by Gabrielle Gelormini).

Uza Josselyn, who recently raced without luck in the Elitlopp, is a Danish mare, but is owned and trained in Switzerland by Rene Aebischer. She has 25 wins from 46 races.

The French record was held by Bold Eagle, who earlier this year won the Grand Criterium de Vitesse at Cagnes sur Mer in 1:50.4. The race and track record at Enghien was held by Rapide Lebel in 1:51.3 from 2012.

The Enghien track is 1.350 meters or nearly seven-eighths of a mile.
