New Jersey sports betting now legal

Columbus, OH — Northjersey.com is reporting that New Jersey has become the second state behind Delaware to legalize sports betting following last month’s landmark U.S. Supreme Court ruling, opening a new market of state-sanctioned gambling expected to lift the fortunes of racetracks and increase the allure of Atlantic City as a destination.

After weathering days of criticism for not promptly taking action, Gov. Phil Murphy announced Monday afternoon he had signed the bill.
