East Rutherford, NJ — On Saturday (June 16), camels and ostriches will thunder down the stretch at Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment for the seventh annual Cameltonian & Ostrich Derby. Admission and parking are free for this event.

The much-anticipated camel and ostrich races will take place during the live harness racing program. Fans will watch the ostriches when they battle it out after race three with an approximate post time of 8:05 p.m. and the camels will take their marks after race eight with an approximate post time of 9:50 p.m.

The best seat in the house may be the track’s Victory Terrace. The Terrace features great views of the racing action and the NYC skyline along with a DJ, bar and grill.

Live harness racing will commence at 7:15 p.m., and fans can test their luck in Horseplay. Pick up a free horse and throw the horse into the car for a chance to win $100 and entry into the Aug. 3 car drawing for a 2018 Toyota Corolla. For every horse that makes it into the target car, Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment will donate $10 to the Bergen County Horse Rescue.
