Three-year-old pacing colts compete in second leg of Buckeye Stallion Series

Grove City, OH — Eldorado Scioto Downs hosted the second leg of the Buckeye Stallion Series for 3-year-old pacing colts Friday (June 8). Some fast colts filled the card with six races throughout the evening. Besides speed, two colts brought their 2018 earnings to over $20,000 in this leg.

Yankee Osborne in race three was the first Buckeye Stallion Series race winner of the evening coming to the wire in 1:54.1 with Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. in the sulky. The win brought his 2018 earnings to $23,600. The Yankee Cruiser colt is trained by Eric Hamlet for owner Jerome T Osborne Estate. Following his lead in second was Cg’s Boy Toy with Jeremey Smith, who is trained and owned by Roger Hughes Jr. Cg’s Boy Toy is a Powerful Toy colt.

Race five saw Modern Rock AS, a Pet Rock colt, make it to the winner’s circle He was driven by Chris Page with Drew The Dragon a close second; both were timed 1:54.2. Modern Rock AS is trained by Anette Lorentzon and owned by ACL Stuteri AB. Kimberly Dailey trains and owns Drew The Dragon, along with owners Kevin Snyder and Shane Hines.

Panimal Kingdom and Jeff Sutton lead the way in race seven with a time of 1:53.3. The No Pan Intended colt is trained by Virgil Morgan, Jr., who also owns him along with Peter Pan Stables, Inc. Close behind was Harambe Deo with Dan Noble, who is trained by Chris McGuire and owned by Deo Volente Farms LLC and Howard Taylor.

The Dragon Again colt Dancin Dragon took the win in the 10th race with Jason Brewer in the sulky coming home in 1:54.2. Dancin Dragon is trained by Jim Arledge Jr. for owners James Russell Arledge and Mark Marroletti.

Oberlin, who came in second, was driven by Ronnie Wrenn, Jr, trained by Timothy Lane and owned by Devine Line Racing Stable and Sandra McDavid.

Goingtocalifornia decided he was going to the winner’s circle in the 11th with Chris Page. Brian Brown trains this Pet Rock colt, who is owned by Country Club Acres Inc., L & H Management Services and Richard Lombardo. He finished in 1:53.4 and brought his 2018 earnings to $21,215. Johnny Chip and Kyle Ater were close behind in second place. Johnny Chip is a Big Bad John colt, trained by Dan Ater for owner Carol Jean Noble.

The final Buckeye Stallion Series race of the evening was won by Rock On Creek. Page brought trainer Brown his second win of the evening with another Pet Rock colt, as the pair finished in 1:54.2 for the owner trio of Debbie Bird, Richard Lombardo and Carl Atley. Wild Eyed Yankee was close behind with Dan Noble in the sulky. Wild Eyed Yankee, a Yankee Cruiser colt, is trained by Tyler Bates and owned by Edwin Harwood.

Eldorado Scioto Downs will host the 3-year-old trotting fillies on Tuesday (June 12).
