Ft. Washington, MD — Russell Foster won four races and Roger Plante steered Arts And Flowers to a win in the $8,500 feature for pacing mares Wednesday night (April 4) at Rosecroft.

Leaving from post five in a nine horse field, Plante sent Arts And Flowers right to the top in :26.4 and never looked back. The 30-mph wind gusts played to a two-second allowance and Arts And Flowers stopped the clock in 1:54. It was her 11th win in 30 lifetime starts and she has been in the top three in 17 of those starts. Linda Schwaid and breeder Era Williams own the daughter of Artistic Fella who is trained by Phyllis Copeland. Hearts N Flowers (Timmy Offutt) was second and KG Rocks (Jason Green) was third.

Foster got going in race three as Calladay Road chased down Winston Hall (Plante) who held for third, while longshot Royal Zebedee (Green) finished second. Calladay Road is owned by Corey and Joanna Callahan and trained by Shaun Callahan.

In the fourth, heavy favorite Romantic Interest made a break heading into the first turn and that put everyone else into play. B A Rocket cut the fractions through the three-quarter mark but made a break under attack from Thats Not Funny (John Mackinnon) while Foster calmly bided his time with Davids Coming Home ($28.80) who rolled off the banked turn on the way for home and cruised to a two length victory for the CTC Stable and Howard Taylor. Michael Hall trains the 3-year old son of A Rocknroll Dance. The $200,000 Lexington purchase Dance On The Beach (John Wagner) came flying home for second and Changing Tide (Brian Burton) was third.

In the seventh, Foster came from off the pace to collar front runner Endless Summer (Kim Vincent) with Dream Of Paradise for owner Mike Chaney and trainer Belinda Hughes. Bred by the Winbak Farm in Maryland, it was the sixth career win in 26 starts for the 4-year-old If I Can Dream mare.

In the tenth race Lyonssweetie came first over and held off a charging Shaker Rei (John Gazzerro) to win by a nose. Foster sent the 8-year-old mare by No Pan Intended to the outside at the half and grinded down pacesetter Junkyard Treasure. George Leager own and trains the mare who won for the 24th time in her career and now boasts earnings of $197,126.
