Rubber Duck takes third straight in Sunday Pocono feature

from the PHHA/Pocono

Wilkes-Barre, PA — Rubber Duck, who has done his best racing on the front end in recent starts, worked out a pocket trip on a 34-degree night and came on to get a half-length decision over tough pacesetter Classicality while taking Sunday’s (Nov. 19) $25,000 winners over handicap trot in 1:53.2 at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono.

Jim Marohn Jr. sat with the Muscle Mass ridgling behind favored Classicality as that one set fractions of :27.1, :56.1, and 1:25.2, then gained into the :28 last quarter to get his third straight victory for trainer Jennifer Bongiorno and owners Blair and Ema Corbeil, who saw their talented trotter cross the $400,000 mark in his last start, and now has a bankroll of $413,301.

There are only two more days of racing left in the 2017 season at Pocono. The track will race on Tuesday and Saturday at 6:30 p.m., with the Saturday after Thanksgiving action the final of the year at the mountain oval.
