Dr. Jack Swagler, 79, dies

Columbus, OH — Dr. Jack P. Swagler, 79, died on Friday (Nov. 17) at age 79.

Swagler was a 1966 graduate of the Ohio State Veterinary School of Medicine and a long-time member of the United States Trotting Association. Swagler was the chief operating officer of R Knoll Farm, based in Lebanon, Ohio, where he resided. He also participated in the sport as a trainer and driver.

He was the loving husband of Cindy Swagler (nee Apking); the beloved father of Penny (Dave) Lawrence, Susan (Roy) Wilson, Greg Swagler and Erin (Rob) Clendenin; dear stepfather of Jon (Shauna) Brown and Kevin (Jillian) Brown and is survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Swagler was a dear friend of Marty Woebkenberg, Mark Graber and Doug Stovall.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ada Swagler, his siblings, Joan Jarvis and John Swagler, and his son, Paul Swagler.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday (Nov. 21) from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with the funeral service to immediately follow.
