Joe Pennachio won both divisions of the first leg of the 2018 Hall of Fame & Museum Amateur Series.

Both divisions, each with a purse of $4,000, were won by Joe Pennachio. He won with Kween Mightus by a whisker over Fairground Drama, driven by Rodney DeBeck, in 1:56.4. Pennachio turned right around and won the next race with Steve Oldford’s Utopia in hand in 1:56.3.

Lawrence DeVan, Museum President, was on hand to make the winner’s circle presentations.

Funds raised in these races will be donated to the Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame, Goshen, N.Y. and to the Round Barn at the Red Mile.

The series has been a resounding success, raising more than $6,000 for the Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame. Special thanks are in order for the amateur drivers who participated in the inaugural Hall of Fame Amateur Series for their contributions of driving commissions and starting fees to the Museum.
