Vernon, NY — It’s A Miracle (Chris Lems) won the $9,500 Fillies and Mares Open at Tioga Downs on Thursday (Aug. 24).

It’s A Miracle won the $9,500 Fillies and Mares Open at Tioga Downs.

All Charged Up (John MacDonald) would jump out to the lead and hit the first quarter in :26.3. It’s A Miracle (Always A Virgin) who is owned by Victor Finochiarro and trained by Jordon Hope, would go first over and blow right by to take over and control the rest of the fractions, :56.1, 1:24.4, 1:52.1. All Charged Up (Ponder) would finish second. Regal Roxy (Shawn McDonough) got third.

It’s A Miracle ($6.90) would win for the ninth time this season. The 7-year-old mare would win for the 31st time in her career.

Lems would win two others on the night. His first win was with the second time starter Lady Dudette (Bettor’s Delight-Luxury Goods). The freshman filly would win in 1:56.2 and pay $3.20. His other win was with Teezer Bree ($21.00).
