from the HHA of CNY

Vernon, NY — The Harness Horse Association of Central New York is proud to announce the 2017-2018 scholarship winners. At total of $9,000 is available to three students whose parents/guardians are members of the HHA of CNY.

The $5,000 scholarship was awarded to Jessica Hallett. Jessica is the daughter of Michelle and John Hallett of Margate, Fla. She is a 2017 graduate of Deerfield Beach High School and will be attending Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Fla. Jessica is enrolled in a dual degree program pursuing a law and biology degree.

The $2,500 scholarship was awarded to Gabrielle Dewhurst, daughter of Regina and David Dewhurst of Clinton, N.Y. Gabrielle is a 2017 graduate of Clinton Senior High School and has been accepted to Cornell University. Her program of study will be Nutritional Science.

Jonathan Hallett was awarded the $1,500 scholarship. Jonathan is the son of Michelle and John Hallet of Margate, Fla. Jonathan is a 2015 graduate of Deerfield Beach High School. He attends the University of Central Florida and is pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering.

Scholarships are based on financial need, community service, essay and grades.
