Columbus, OH — On Friday (July 7) a memorial was held in honor of Brett Smith at Afton Driving Park. The 34-year-old from Bainbridge, N.Y., died from injuries sustained at that very same facility last Sept. In his eight-year career, Smith amassed $523,043 in earnings as a trainer from preparing 1,044 horses to take the gate.
