The third edition of the Saturday Shootout handicapping contest returns on Saturday (June 17).

In its third edition, the free contest offers four preliminary rounds on June 17, June 24, July 1, and July 8 for players to earn and accumulate points based on their handicapping selections on designated races from both tracks. Each player will be aiming to advance into the top five standings at each location for a spot on the team for the $5,000 final on Saturday (Aug. 5) at Indiana Grand.

The contest will feature races three through six at both Hoosier Park and Indiana Grand with the exception of July 1 in which races nine through 12 will be utilized at Hoosier Park due to an early 4:30 p.m. post time.

The format for the contest will require contestants to make eight $2 win and place wagers on the designated contest races. All players will begin with a mythical bankroll of $32 and the bankroll may not be cashed in at the end of play. All of the official rules can be found by clicking here.

All entries must be turned into Club Centaur Rewards by 6:45 p.m. to be eligible and the top player at each location during the preliminary rounds will receive a $125 prize. Points are accumulative for each preliminary round.

The Saturday Shootout final will match the top five players from Hoosier Park with Indiana Grand’s top five players, with points determined by teams combining their skills on the eight selected races for the final.
