Matinee at Hicksville, Ohio

Edgerton, OH — The Defiance County Area Horsemen’s Association will sponsor a matinee on Saturday (May 27) at the Defiance County Fairgrounds in Hicksville, Ohio.

Post time for the first race will be 12 noon. The rain date will be on Monday (May 29-Memorial Day).

Entries will be taken on Wednesday (May 24) from 5-9 p.m. All entries should be phoned to 419.298.7408 or 419.630.5952.

Races will be classified by time bars. Each horse must have a negative Coggins test within the past 12 months. Entry fees will be free for members of the Defiance County Area Horsemen’s Association and $10 per horse for non-members. Memberships are $30 per individual and $40 per family.

There will be drawings for many great door prizes, including two tickets to the VIP party tent at the Oct. 28 Breeders Crown races at Hoosier Park; a night at the races package to Hoosier Park; two tickets to the country concert at Fort Loramie, Ohio on July 6; a set of four tickets to the Cleveland Indians at Detroit Tigers game on July 2; two sets of four tickets to the Chicago Cubs at Cincinnati Reds game on July 2; a set of four tickets to the Columbus Clippers at Toledo Mud Hens game on July 1; a set of four tickets to the Lansing Lugnuts at Fort Wayne TinCaps game on June 11; and two one-year subscriptions to the Midwest Harness Report magazine.

Pence’s Concessions of Bryan, Ohio will be on hand with a food stand. They will also donate 35 four-ounce packages of caramel corn to the drawing for door prizes.
