Dont Rush, Lets Go Bucks and Safe From Terror capture Friday features at Scioto

Columbus, OH — Eldorado Scioto Downs started their Friday (May 19) night with treacherous rains sweeping through before the 6:30 p.m. post time. Just in time for the first race of the evening the conditions were changed from sloppy to good, which lead to a quick win by State Street Liz (Jason Brewer) in the first race on the card in 1:53.3. This set the pace for the 10 races to follow.

Seven talented trotters faced off in the $25,000 Open I Trot in the third race. It was another tight battle this week between Tricky Nick, Boffin and Dont Rush. Tricky Nick got out ahead of the pack to start the race and put up a fight until the top of the stretch. Boffin and Dont Rush battled it out down the stretch, with driver Dan Noble steering Dont Rush to the finish providing trainer Jim Dailey and owners Richard Lombardo, Carl Atley and Jj&M Stable the win. Boffin finished second, while Chef Lee settled for third. The final time was 1:54.1.

Race seven saw a full field of ten trotters contest the $22,000 Open Trot II. Cantab Lindy took the early lead with Consolidator and One Direction sitting right behind through the first quarter. Lets Go Bucks was first-up after the half, holding a tight lead over Kestrel and Consolidator. These three fought it out through the stretch with Lets Go Bucks able to hold off the two ladies for his 14th career win in 1:55.3.

Kestrel, who in her last race finished fifth in the Miami Valley Distaff, settled for second while Consolidator was third.

Race nine brought together ten horses for the $25,000 Fillies and Mares Open Pace. Aniston Seelster made an early appearance getting away first ahead of Safe From Terror and Rock the Look. Aniston Seelster gave a good fight between Safe From Terror and Rock The Look, not backing down from the lead until the stretch. Safe From Terror, however, was not ready to give up either. She gave it her all to cross the wire in 1:51.4 providing driver Aaron Merriman with a driving double.

Aniston Seelster held for second and Rock The Look for third.

This Saturday (May 20) at Scioto Downs will be Super Saturday. Join the fun for an evening of live harness racing, great events and giveaways. There will also be a corn hole double-elimination tournament starting at 7:00 p.m. It is $20 per team or $10 a person; make sure to register by 6 p.m. to get in on the fun.

Also, get the in on the chance to be selected to win a ride in the starting gate as 10 lucky people and a friend will selected to sit in the car during the start of a race.

There will be plenty to keep busy with on Saturday between the Ohio lottery fan appreciation giveaway, the prize wind machine and our last man standing contest as well.
