Northville, MI — Friday night (April 7) marked the second and final WHHC qualifier event at Northville Downs.

A total of 32 contestants registered, the exact same number as with our first qualifier that took place two weeks prior. The prize structure was $800 for first, plus air and accommodations and a seat in the WHHC final, while second place received $500 and third was $300.

Brian Newman was the leader by a mere $2.80 going into the final race. In race No. 11 he wagered $22 to win on the betting favorite, Redneckyachtclub, to seal his victory and was crowned the winner of our qualifying tournament.

The top three finishers were: Brian Newman-$200.40; Mike Cauzillo-$196.40; and Steve Bock-$151.80.

Northville Downs would like to thank everyone who participated in our contest qualifiers, and also wish our first contest winner, Steve Wing, and Brian Newman the best of luck as they will go on to the WHHC final at the Meadowlands on Saturday (April 29).
