Frost Free Hanover, Bluebird Reverend win Dover top trots

Dover, DE — Frost Free Hanover closed with a rush towin the $20,000 Open Handicap trot and Bluebird Reverend pulled away forvictory in the Wednesday feature trots at Dover Downs on Jan. 4. Tony Morgan andCorey Callahan won four races apiece.

Next to last on the backstretch, meet leading driver VicKirby got Frost Free Hanover going heading to the three-quarters before poweringhome to win in 1:54.4. Lou Man (Jonathan Roberts), who led entering the stretch,finished second with Uva Hanover (Tony Morgan) third a head in front Tough Mac(Corey Callahan). Rich Poillucci owns the Cantab Hall-Free Spirit geldingtrained by Jim King The victory was the 13th in his career while earning $177,863.

Bluebird Reverend notched his second win of the meet forMontrell Teague. The Indiana-bred altered son of Swan For All-Little Revenueshook off a challenge from runner-up Go Byem (Jim Morand) heading for the farturn and then pulled off for a decisive victory. Bobby Reeser conditions the 5-year-oldgelding which he co-owns with Holly Case, Denise Dennis and JayJohannsen. The win was his 14th lifetime and brings his bankroll to $348,004earned.
