Ft. Washington, MD — Roger Plante took the last race of the 2016 Rosecroft Raceway meet with In Front Charlie and in the process tied Russell Foster for the fall meet driving title with 52 wins.

It was the third win of the night for Plante and provided Michael and Brittany Bounds with a sweep of the late Daily Double after winning race 12 with Diva’s Princess (Frank Milby). It was Brittany Bounds’ first training double.

Plante and Foster were separated by one coming into Thursday’s card, and Plante and Foster took turns winning races six-nine.

Plante scored in the $12,000 Maryland Special for Fillies and Mares with Rhapsody Rose for a second straight week. The 10-year old Real Artist offspring was parked to the quarter but gained control and held off DVC Kolor Me Krazy (Kim Vincent) by the slimmest of margins in 1:54.3.

Brian Burton dethroned Ken Schlotzhauer, the defending trainer champion, winning the opener with Real Passing Lady. It was one of two wins for Burton.

Frank Milby and Foster had doubles on the night.

Rosecroft’s spring meet will begin on Sunday (March 5) at 4:40 p.m.
