Rhapsody Rose captures Rosecroft feature; Plante wins five

Fort Washington, MD —- Rose and Romeo LLC’s Rhapsody Rose held off a stubborn Cedar Hall Heiress (Jason Green) to win the $12,000 Maryland Special Open Pace for fillies and mares.

Driver Roger Plante left from post seven and moved back to the lead before the half after briefly yielding to Breadcrumb Income.

Cedar Hall Heiress was parked the mile and took a short lead down the backside, but, Rhapsody Rose fought back to hold off her closest foe in 1:54. Pop Writer (Frank Milby) was third.

Plante posted five wins on the card and trails leading driver Russell Foster by four heading into the final two days of the meet next week.

Kim Vincent and Billy Carter also had driving doubles.
