Freaky Feet Pete will not race again in 2016 due to injury.

A posting on Freaky Feet Pete’s Facebook page reads as follows: “This is a very hard announcement to make, but unfortunately due to injury Pete’s season has come to an end. It’s hard, for sure, but we are thankful we caught it and didn’t do any further damage. Hopefully, if everything goes well, we will try to come back bigger, stronger and tougher next year, and we would like to thank you all for the support this year.”

Freaky Feet Pete won six times in 15 starts this year, with earnings of $422,057. He is owned by Mary Jo and Marty Rheinheimer and was trained by his breeder, Larry Rheinheimer, who passed away on Sept. 24.

The son of Rockin Image-Skyway Lori finished third this past Friday night in the Dayton Pacing Derby at Hollywood Dayton Raceway.
