Monticello, NY — On Monday (Aug. 29) at Monticello Raceway, 2-year-old pacing fillies will be featured in New York Sires Stakes action on the afternoon’s card.

The card has two heats of elite Sires Stakes vying for a purse of $52,500 each, four heats of the Excelsior A, with a purse of $15,000 and three splits of the Excelsior B, with a purse of $6,600.

Ken Jacobs brings a strong duo of Planet Rock and Robin J to the fray. Planet Rock is the fastest filly of the bunch and Robin J is the richest.

Planet Rock will start from post position four for trainer Linda Toscano in the first race of the day. The daughter of Rock N Roll Heaven has been flawless in pari-mutuel competition thus far in her brief career. She has reeled off five consecutive wins in this company, with earnings of $97,665, and a speed badge of 1:52 taken at Vernon Downs for owner Kenneth Jacobs of Baldwinsville, N.Y. Tim Tetrick will drive the filly in the five-horse field.

Roaring To Go, who has been unlucky at drawing inside post positions, will take advantage of the best post of her career, starting from post three for trainer Kevin Lare of Snow White fame. Team Miller brings the respectable Pleasant Roll, a daughter of Rock With Joe, who will start from post five.

In the second division (race eight), another five-horse field, Ken Jacobs brings another outstanding filly in Robin J. The Roll With Joe lass has shown brilliant closing speed and comes into the race with respectable credentials, five wins in six lifetime starts and $131,605 in the bank. She is also trained by Linda Toscano and will be driven by Tim Tetrick.

Local horsemen Gary Messenger brings Delilah De Vie in race five, a division of the Excelsior B. The daughter of Art Major has drawn post five in the five-horse field. She is looking for her third win in a row in this company. She is owned by Scott Woogen and Brenda Messenger.
