USTA district meetings and membership director elections announced

by Kent Hastings, USTA Director of Regulatory Affairs

Columbus, OH — The United States Trotting Association has released the schedule for the 2016-17 district meetings of its various districts.

Each year, members who attend district meetings are given the opportunity to discuss suggested USTA rule change proposals and hear timely information on a variety of topics specific to their district.

There are also several district membership directorship terms set to expire in 2017. Candidates (any USTA member in good standing) who may wish to run for a position of membership director other than incumbent membership directors are required to submit a nomination petition (Click here for petition) and follow the instructions on the petition. The deadline for filing petitions is noted on the district meeting schedule.

Note that membership directorships expiring in 2017 will be elected in conjunction with the 2016-17 district meetings. Directorships noted with (T) are track directors, who are not elected by the membership. They are elected by the district’s extended pari-mutuel track members.
