Open Pace highlights Friday’s Scioto card

by Jason Roth, for Scioto Downs

Scioto Downs — With Eldorado Scioto Downs dark for live racing on Saturday, June 25 due to a Rick Springfield Concert on the track, Friday’s action takes center stage.

The highlight of the Friday, June 24 stellar race card is the Open I Pace, carded as race seven of fourteen races. An extremely deep field of ten will do battle for the lion’s share of the $25,000 purse. Odds On Equuleus draws a tough assignment with post nine, but the classy son of Art Major could very well be up to the task. He will be making his debut at Eldorado Scioto Downs, as well as his debut for the barn of Melanie Wrenn. The 6-year-old has earned nearly $900,000 lifetime and will be driven by Peter Wrenn.

Next week Eldorado Scioto Downs returns to our regular racing schedule, with matinee action on Tuesday carrying a post time of 2 p.m. (EDT). Harness racing action will be held in the evenings on Wednesday thru Saturday, with the first post time scheduled for 6:30 p.m. (EDT).
