Hannah Miller wins in training debut

from the PHHA/Pocono

Wilkes-Barre, PA — It took Hannah Miller, 2015 Amateur Driver of the Year, half as long to get her first training win after getting her license as it did for her to secure her first driving victory.

She won with her second drive with Ideal Nectarine at the Du Quoin State Fair on August 25, 2012.

She won with the first charge she ever sent to post, taking the second race at The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono Tuesday night (June 21) with Versado, a half-length victor in 1:52.3 for Miller, driver Matt Kakaley, and the ownership of Nick Surick Stable LLC.

Coming up a winner in your first start as a trainer could be some heady stuff, but Hannah Miller has already shown her ability to keep an even disposition in the sulky, a skill likely to carry over to her fledgling training career.

And if she ever needs a little grounding, there’s this stat to remember: Now she’s only 4,804 training wins behind her father, former Trainer of the Year Erv Miller.
