Your Highness bests Nuncio by a scant margin after enjoying a better trip.

The 7-year old Your Highness might be the best trotting mare in the world.

On Sunday afternoon (June 12) she captured her eighth consecutive triumph in this prestigious contest that offers a purse of $180,000.

Your Highness, who a month ago won the Copenhagen Cup, enjoyed an optimal trip guided by Goop.

Nuncio, who had to race from the second tier, attempted to possess the lead at 500 meters, but Mosaique Face, steered by Lutfi Kolgjini, thwarted his advance, so yet again Nuncio had to race outside without cover. As Nuncio loomed at the 500 meter mark, Goop manage to take Your Highness to the outside and tucked in behind Nuncio.

That would prove to be a very wise decision, as entering the homestretch Mosaique Face faded and Nuncio was in command. At that time, it appeared as if the favorite was going to win, but Your Highness fought bravely and just managed to get by Nuncio to win the 1-5/16 mile event in 1.53.2 (mile rate).

It was the fifth victory of the day for Goop.

By Chocolatier and out of a Conway Hall mare, Your Highness is trained in Frabce by Fabrice Souloy and this was the conditioner’s 78th victory in a Group I event.
