East Rutherford, NJ — The first and third races on Friday nights Meadowlands card featured nine trotters that went to post for the GSY Amateur – Dash For The “G” Notes Series.

As the gate sprung open, there were several leaders and a mad scramble for the lead. After the quarter pole there was only Jim Marshall IV aboard Mass Appeal. Only In My Dreams was able to clear Only In My Dreams with Tony Beltrami in the bike, in a quarter that went in 28 seconds flat. As everyone settled in, Feisty Love, with Roy Marohn holding the lines, took charge with a backside brush to clear to the lead before the three-quarter pole and never looked back. He was nine lengths off the lead at the quarter-pole and sitting sixth before making his move. Marohn ended up cruising home to a 6-1/2 length victory in a time of 1:56.

Feisty Love is owned by Edward Hall and James Hall Jr. and trained by Daniel Gill. Longshots rounded out the trifecta as Woody, with Joe Lee aboard finished second and Nautilus De Vie with David Yarock finished third.

Race three was an entirely different story as Keenan, with owner, trainer, and driver, John Calabrese in the sulky, went wire to wire and finished a neck ahead of hard-charging I’m Fabulous, with Hannah Miller holding the lines. The race went in a fast 1:55.2. Trotalot with Robert Hechkoff finished 9-1/2 lengths back in third.

Next Friday, the GSY Dash for the “G” Notes Final will take place for $12,500. The top 10 horses from both divisions qualify for next week’s final.
