Lindsay Lou wins third straight in Meadows series

Washington, PA — UF Lindsay Lou Whocontinued her march through the Mary Wohlmuth Memorial Trot at The Meadows whenshe won her third straight division in Wednesday’s (March 16) third leg.Flowers N Songs took the other $15,000 split in the event for 3- and 4-year-oldfillies and mares. The championships of four current Meadows series, includingthe Mary Wohlmuth, are set for Saturday, March 26.

Brian Zendt waited for the dust to settlebefore sending UF Lindsay Lou Who to the front. The 1-9 favorite jogged fromthere, prevailing in 1:57 for her fourth consecutive victory overall. My PinkBike was second, 3-1/4 lengths back, with Regal Woman third. Leslie Zendttrains the 4-year-old daughter of Donato Hanover-Sweetspellosuccess for UpfrontRacing.

In the $22,500 Winners Over $10,000Life/Preferred Handicap Trot, Rose Run Parker, making his first start in morethan seven months, moved powerfully first-over from fourth and scored convincinglyin 1:52.2, a lifetime mark. Early leader Tamarind held second, 6-1/4 lengthsback, while Final Breath rallied for show. Dave Palone drove the 5-year-oldJailhouse Jesse-Centergy gelding, who now boasts $641,740 in career earnings,for trainer Ron Burke and owners Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi LLC andWilliam Haas, Jr.

Mike Wilder piloted three winners on the15-race card.
