It’s not too late to sign up for USTA Owner’s School

by Chip Hastings, the United States Trotting Association

Columbus, OH — Join us for three days of hands-on horsemanship and classroom instruction at the USTA Owners School, Feb. 11-13 in Delray Beach, Fla.

Each participant will be given the opportunity to get up close and personal with horses during the morning hours, followed by lectures by some of the sport’s top owners and trainers. They will learn how easy it is to get involved as an owner.

Participants will also receive a rebate/credit that can be used toward the purchase of a horse from certain consignors. Students will also have an opportunity to join in the racing partnership including 2016 Horse of the Year, Wiggle It Jiggleit, two-time world champion and winner of the Little Brown Jug and Meadowlands Pace.

Speakers will include Tony Alagna, trainer of Captaintretcherous, the Pacer of the Year in both 2012 and 2013 and other notable Grand Circuit winners of more than $24 million; Steve Oldford, internationally known amateur driving champion, with more than 40 years experience as an owner; Paul Kelley, noted trainer who operates a top stable from New York state; Jim Winske, who is well versed in horse partnerships following many years as a top trainer and driver; and many other industry notables.
