Goshen Sale set for Sept. 18

from the Goshen Yearling Sale

Goshen, NY — The Goshen Yearling Sale will hold its second annual auction on Sunday (Sept. 18) at the Mark Ford Training Center in Middletown, N.Y., near historic Goshen.

“We’ve had tremendous interest in this year’s sale already so we wanted to announce our date so people can put it on their schedules,” said Ford. “In the coming weeks we anticipate having some exciting news about the sale.”

The popularity of the rich New York Sires Stakes program, and the lack of a New York sale close to many who participate in the program, prompted the creation of the Goshen Yearling Sale in 2015. It was supported by the sport’s major breeders, including Winbak Farm and Blue Chip Farm, who both operate in New York.

Last year 113 yearlings were sold at the inaugural edition held on Sept. 13. The sale generated gross sales of $1.4 million, with not only New York-sired yearlings going through the ring but also offspring eligible to other regional stakes program, which attracted buyers from several states and Canada.
