Columbus, OH — The tragic fire at Classy Lane Training Centre that occurred Jan. 4, taking the lives of 43 horses in Ontario, was felt by the entire North American harness racing industry.

The Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association has donated $5,000 to the Classy Lane Training Centre Fund.

“Having been in the same unfortunate situation with the Lebanon Raceway fire, Ohio horsemen know that not much can help ease the pain and devastating loss but time. They stand together with the Ontario horsemen and offer this small financial gesture in support of those impacted by this horrific tragedy, with the hope that they will rebuild, and look toward the future,” stated OHHA Executive Director Renée Mancino.

The OHHA encourages donations to the Classy Lane fund. Mail checks payable to “Classy Lane Barn Fire” in care of Central Ontario Standardbred Association, P.O. Box 297, Campbellville, ON L0P 1B0 or click here to go to the GoFundMe page created by the Central Ontario Standardbred Association.
