Gingras wins six on Monday at Dover

Dover, DE — Yannick Gingras has a winning habit on Mondays at Dover Downs. This week he drove six winners on the Jan. 18 card.

Gingras now has a six-win night to go along with five-win appearances and a four in the other of his previous seven Monday appearances at the track.

Class Six was one of six winners on Monday for Yannick Gingras.

Gingras steered Class Six to the pacer’s eighth victory in nine races for Weaver Bruscemi and Burke Racing Stable. The 5-year-old altered son of Western Ideal-Vs Fu River rolled past Apollo Seelster (Jonathan Roberts) in deep stretch for a personal record 1:52 victory in a $15,000 Male Winners Over Pace. Totally Dreamy (George Dennis) picked up third money.

Gingras’ other winners were with Ken Wood, Bill Dittmar and Steve Iaquinta’s Adventure Bound in 1:52.1 in a $14,000 Male Winners Over; Howard Taylor’s Cashendash Hanover in 1:50.4 winning a $20,000-$25,000 male claimer; Tom Lazzaro’s Rocknroll Jewel, a 1:51 winner in a $12,500 male pace; Grantland, owned by Rich Lombardo, Cory Atley, Carl Atley and JJ&M Stable in 1:54, taking an $11,500 pace for young males; and Absolute Return Stable’s Baby Kitty, who was a nose winner in 1:54.1 in a $13,500 male pace.

Bad Boy Matt pulled off a 10-1 upset in the $27,500 Delaware Special Handicap feature race.

Allan Davis unleashed Bad Boy Matt in the stretch, closing swiftly to catch front-pacing Captive Audience late to post a 1:51.1 victory in the feature. It was the Badlands Hanover-Mattercycle 6-year-old gelding’s third win of the meet to go along with a second and three thirds in his last eight starts for trainer Wayne Givens and owners Regginald Hazzard and Legacy Racing. Raritan Bay (Bret Brittingham) also closed well to finish third. The win was the 17th lifetime for Bad Boy Matt, while banking $251,307.

Skyway Gladiator, an 8-1 shot, got up at the wire to win the other $15,000 sub-feature for young male horses in 1:54. Twin B Stingray (Vic Kirby) and Rip N Rock (Davis) were in the tight photo and had to settle for second and third, respectively.

Meet leading trainer Dylan Davis haltered two winners.
