Washington, PA — Owners of mid- and high-level claiming horses will have a chance to share in lucrative purses in Winter Claiming Series 2016 offered by The Meadows Racetrack & Casino.

The event consists of six series, each with two preliminary legs and a final, with purses for the finals estimated at $15,000 for $10,000 claimers and $25,000 for $20,000 claimers. All finals are scheduled for the week of Feb. 22.

The series are:

• Filly & Mare $10,000 Claiming Pace, $250 entry fee, first leg Feb. 8
• Horse & Gelding $10,000 Claiming Pace, $250 entry fee, first leg Feb. 13
• $10,000 Claiming Trot, $250 entry fee, first leg Feb. 9
• Filly & Mare $20,000 Claiming Pace, entry fee $350, first leg Feb. 8
• Horse & Gelding $20,000 Claiming Pace, entry fee $350, first leg Feb. 13
• $20,000 Claiming Trot, entry fee $350, first leg Feb. 9
