Some Kinda Beach upsets at 10-1 in Meadows pace

by Evan Pattak, for the Meadows

Washington, PA — Let go at a generous 10-1, Some Kinda Beach overpowered the leader with a first-over move, then dug in late to preserve his victory in Monday’s (Dec. 7) $18,000 Winners Over $10,000 Life/Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows.

Some Kinda Beach was third when Eric Goodell sent him after the leader Unlocked. The 5-year-old son of Somebeachsomewhere-Art’s Fantasy easily dispatched Unlocked but was all out to hold off the rallying Bestinthebusiness. Some Kinda Beach edged his stablemate by a nose in a career-best 1:49.4, with Doctor Carter third.

Paul Kennedy trains Some Kinda Beach, who now boasts $236,782 in career earnings, for Keith Pippi.

It was one of Goodell’s five wins — three for Kennedy — on the 15-race card.

Dave Palone also fashioned a five-bagger, including four for trainer Ron Burke.
