Lexington, KY — The $268,000 International Stallion Stakes for 2-year-old filly trotters kicks off the second and final week of the Grand Circuit meeting at The Red Mile on Wednesday (Oct. 7).

Off a win in the $259,000 Bluegrass Stakes on Wednesday (Sept. 30), Celebrity Eventsy returns in the opening division of the ISS. Winning her Bluegrass split in 1:56.1, the filly by Manofmanymissions out of the American Winner mare Little Ms Queenie, competes with two other Bluegrass starters, Jimmy Takter’s I’m Outstanding, and Ron Burke’s Silvia, who qualified in 1:59.2 on Friday at Lexington. Celebrity Eventsy, conditioned by Staffan Lind, has won three of eight starts and earned $167,212 this year. She races for owner Celebrity Farms.

Unbeaten in five starts this season, the Jimmy Takter-trained Haughty shifts from late-closer action into the ISS, starting from post four in division two. By Donato Hanover out of Letsjusttalkaboutme by Self Possessed, she won a late closer last week by 5-1/2 lengths in 1:58.2 as the 1-9 favorite. She has also won three preliminaries for the Kindergarten Series, two of which were at The Red Mile. Banking $26,000 in her five outings, she races for Marvin Katz, Al Libfeld and Sam Goldband.

Haughty’s stablemate, Hollywood Hill, draws the rail in the third ISS split. Owned by Goran Falk and Christina Takter, she ships back to Lexington after finishing fourth in a $207,300 division of the Kentuckiana Stakes at Hoosier Park. She raced over this track last on Sept. 17, where she was second to Haughty in a preliminary of the Kindergarten. She has three wins to her credit this year, earning $51,889 in the process. She is by Muscle Hill, out of the Viking Kronos mare Lantern Kronos.

Up against Hollywood Hill is Ake Svanstedt’s Dancing In Thehall, who finished third to Celebrity Eventsy in an off-the-pace performance last week. She has one win in seven starts and $42,208 in earnings. She begins from post three for owner Vanersol Inc.

The final division features a match-up between Jimmy Takter’s Kathy Parker, who was second to Broadway Donna in the $389,450 Jim Doherty Memorial and $351,000 Pennsylvania Sires Stakes final, and Julie Miller’s Womans Will, who finished fourth in the Jim Doherty Memorial and third in the Pennsylvania Sires Stakes final. Kathy Parker, racing for the interests of Christina Takter, Brixton Medical Ab, R A W Equine, and Joe McClelland, has four wins in eight starts this season and earnings of $276,848. Womans Will, owned by Marvin Katz and Al Libfeld, also has four wins in eight starts this year, but has banked $199,506. Kathy Parker ships in off a win in a $35,000 division of the Liberty Bell, while Womans Will enters with a second in a $207,500 division of the Kentuckiana.

The 10-race card is the first of four matinee programs during the Grand Circuit meeting, with first-race post set for 1 p.m.
