Washington, PA — Hot Type spotted Tamarind 6-1/2 lengths, then wore him down in the lane to capture Monday’s (Sept. 28) $18,000 Winners Over $10,000 Life/Preferred Handicap Trot at The Meadows.
Hot Type was sitting fourth when Mike Wilder sent him first over after Tamarind. The 4-year-old Chocolatier-Lithograph gelding closed in relentlessly despite the sloppy going and defeated Tamarind by a half-length in 1:54.3. Trustworthy Kid recovered from an early break to earn show.
Ron Burke trains Hot Type, who extended his career bankroll to $180,926, for Burke Racing Stable and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.
