Each December issue Hoof Beats publishes “Greener Pastures,” obituaries on prominent horses who have died in the previous 12 months, and a list of all deceased horse reported to the USTA.

We want to feature some lesser-known equine friends who died in 2014-2015, and invite those people who knew them best to share their stories.

To have your story considered for inclusion in Greener Pastures, it must relate to a horse who died between September 2014 and September 2015, and can be no longer than 500 words. E-mail your articles by Oct. 1 to tj.burkett@ustrotting.com, with “GREENER PASTURES” in the subject heading. Photos are encouraged but will not be returned.
