My Tweed Heart was a 1:54 winner in her Ohio State Fair division.

The pacers split into three divisions with My Tweed Heart and Kayne Kauffman being the fastest of them all, coming from the back of the pack to win by three-quarters of a length in 1:54. The Carly Atley owned, Jim Dailey trained filly has now earned $42,500 in two starts, both of them wins. My Tweed Heart is by Manhardt, out of the Towner’s Big Guy mare Tweedle D and was purchased out of the Ohio Select Yearling Sale last year for only $2,500.

The other filly pace winners were Angry Shelby (Big Bad John-Tura Hanover) with driver Greg Grismore in 1:54.2 and Big Bad Ashley (Big Bad John-Cruise On Ashley) with driver Dan Noble in 1:55.1.

Each division went for either $44,500 (with eight starters) or $45,200 (with nine starters).

Kestrel (Triumphant Caviar-Blackrock) and Aaron Merriman took the first $61,800 trotting division, as the race favorite, in 1:58.3.

Oneeyedmomma (Triumphant Caviar-Balmira Cc) with driver Kurt Sugg took the second division after the favorite Shut Up And Dance ran at the start. The filly won in 1:58.2 for owner Bob Troyer and trainer Marty Wollam.

This year’s State Fair races have an expanded schedule, with divisions being held Wednesday through Saturday, due to the rise in numbers for this year’s 2-year-olds. Thursday’s State Fair races will be for 2-year-old trotting and pacing colts, with four divisions of pacers and three divisions of trotters. Friday’s races host 3-year-old filly trotters and pacers, while Saturday’s races feature 3-year-old colt trotters and pacers. First post for each evening is 6:30 p.m.
