Saratoga Springs, NY — Jimmer (Equinox Bi) scored his third consecutive victory on Tuesday night (Aug. 4) at Saratoga Casino and Raceway.
The Don Sherman trainee continues to have a sensational season which has now featured back-to-back jacks in the Open Trot at the Spa.
Reinsman Phil Fluet worked out a second over journey in Tuesday’s $18,000 feature for Jimmer who tipped off cover around the final turn and out-trotted his rivals in the stretch. The 6-year-old highstepper stopped the timer in 1:55.2 for his seventh win of the 2015 campaign and third in a row.
Slugfest (Jay Randall), the defending Trotter of the Year at Saratoga, continued his terrific ’15 season with another second place finish in the feature while invader Can I Say (Bruce Aldrich Jr.) charged hard for third.
Jimmer was dismissed at odds of 9-1 despite winning last Tuesday’s Open while the exacta with Slugfest came back $80.50 and the triple paid $278.
Live racing continues on Wednesday night at Saratoga with a first post time set for 7:05 p.m.
