Saratoga Springs, NY — Saratoga Harness Racing, Inc. today announced Tom Wiedmayer has been named General Manager of Saratoga Casino and Raceway in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

“We are very pleased to have Tom join our team,” said Dan Gerrity, President of Saratoga Harness Racing, Inc. “His experience in hotel operations and construction will be integral as we begin construction on our $34 million hotel expansion this spring and we look forward to working with him to ensure Saratoga Casino and Raceway’s long term success.”

Wiedmayer is a seasoned casino veteran with more than 25 years of experience, working in multiple jurisdictions for leading casino organizations, and has held senior management positions of general manager, vice president of casino operations, vice president of marketing, and senior director of operations. In his most recent position, Wiedmayer was general manager for a non-profit casino in Dubuque, Iowa.

Wiedmayer is currently an executive board member for the Iowa Gaming Association which advocates for the gaming industry in Iowa. He graduated from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, Pa., where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

“I am delighted to have been selected to carry on the tradition of excellence at Saratoga Casino and Raceway as they enter into their next phase of growth and development,” remarked Wiedmayer.

Wiedmayer has been married to his wife Clare for 20 years and they have two teenage boys, Luke and Jordan. He and his family enjoy spending time outdoors and are very active in the community.

Pending regulatory approval by New York Lottery, Wiedmayer will begin his tenure at Saratoga Casino and Raceway on June 1.
