The May 15 deadline is drawing near for many stakes payments. Below are a list of notices that have been submitted to the USTA Newsroom.

OSS yearling nominations due May 15

Toronto, ON — Owners of yearlings eligible to be nominated to the Ontario Sires Stakes should be aware that the C$100 nomination fee must be postmarked by Friday (May 15).

It is recommended that payments be sent by registered mail so the sender has proof of mailing.

All checks should be made payable and mailed to: Ontario Sires Stakes, 90 Sheppard Ave E., Suite 200, Toronto, ON M2N 0A4.

NYSS and Zweig yearling nomination payments due May 15

Latham, NY — The yearling nominations for the New York Sire Stakes No. 56 for foals of 2014 are due (postmarked by) May 15.

The yearling nominations for the Dr. Harry M. Zweig Memorial Trot No. 43 for foals of 2014 are also due (postmarked by) May 15.

WEG stakes fees due May 15

Campbellville, ON — The final sustaining fee to the Pepsi North America Cup and many of the Woodbine Entertainment Group’s major stakes events are due Friday (May 15).

Sustaining fee payments are due Friday for the following stakes events: Pepsi North America Cup, Canadian Trotting Classic, Fan Hanover, Elegantimage, Goodtimes, Metro Pace, She’s A Great Lady, William Wellwood Memorial, Peaceful Way, Nassagaweya, Eternal Camnation, Canadian Pacing Derby, Maple Leaf Trot, Roses Are Red, Milton, Armbro Flight and Champlain and Simcoe Stakes (foals of 2013).

Along with the sustaining fee payments, nominations close Friday to Mohawk’s “Summer Series” events. Two-year-olds can be nominated to the Dream Maker, Whenuwishuponastar, Define The World and Pure Ivory series events. These 2-year-old series offer a great opportunity to develop and assess rookie pacers and trotters for sires stakes and Grand Circuit events.

Also a part of the “Summer Series” events are the Summertime for 3-year-old pacing colts and geldings and the Town Pro for 3-year-old pacing fillies.

Yearling nominations are also due Friday to the 2016 Champlain Open/Filly and the 2017 Simcoe Open/Filly stakes for foals of 2014. A nomination fee is due Friday for Ontario sired fillies foaled in 2014 to the 2017 WEG-SBOA Stakes.

If sending nominations or sustaining fees by mail, envelopes must be postmarked no later than said due date or payment will not be accepted. Registered mail is recommended.

Meadowlands Pace yearling payment due May 15

East Rutherford, NJ — The yearling nomination to the 2017 Crawford Farms Meadowlands Pace for foals of 2014 is due (postmarked by) May 15.

Also be reminded that the final sustaining payment is due for a number of Meadowlands stakes.

May payments due in Maryland

Union Bridge, MD — Two-year-old payments (foals of 2013) are due to the Maryland Standardbred Fund and the Maryland Sire Stakes on May 15. This payment is for 2-year-olds that will be racing in 2015.

Yearling nominations (foals of 2014) to the Maryland Standardbred Fund and the Maryland Sire Stakes are also due on May 15.

We recommend that all payments be sent by certified mail. Please note the mailing address: P.O. Box 540, Union Bridge, MD 21791-0540.

DSBF May 15 payments due

Dover, DE — A $200 sustaining payment is due for DSBF eligible 2-year-olds who made the March 15 payment of $100. If the 2-year-old isn’t going to race in 2015 the payment may be skipped.

A $40 nomination fee is due for DSBF eligible yearlings. A copy of the USTA registration papers must accompany the form. A USTA “Pathway Basic Horse” report is also acceptable.

Payments should be postmarked by May 15 and it is strongly advised to use mail with a tracking number. Credit card payments are now accepted.

Hambletonian Society yearling nominations, sustaining payments due May 15

Cranbury, NJ — Sustaining payments for all races with May payments and yearling nominations for all events administered by the Hambletonian Society are due Friday (May 15).

All payments must be postmarked by midnight on Saturday (May 16) as provided by USTA rule.

Those 2- and 3-year-old races requiring payments are listed below. For a complete list of stakes administered by the Society and accompanying yearling payment forms check the links below.

Eligibility lists for races that had a final payment on February, March, and April 15, 2015, are posted on the website. Race conditions, payment forms and much more information is now available online.
