The 4-year-old gelding Moni To Spare, who is a grandson to legendary Moni Maker, was an impressive winner in his debut Wednesday night (March 18) at Solvalla.

Moni To Spare, driven by Kenneth Haugstad, won in 2:00.4f over the 1-5/16th mile distance with a standing start. That was a new Swedish record for a debutant.

Moni To Spare, who is sired by Chocolatier and out of Live Moni, by Conway Hall, was sold as a yearling at Lexington for $30,000 to the German agent Jack de Jong.

The horse was later exported to Sweden, where he was owned and trained by Lutfi Kolgjini at Jägersro.

Back in September, Kolgjini sold Moni To Spare to Niklas Johansson, an amateur trainer, who lives outside Stockholm.
